December 30, 2009 by Grant Barrett Green Today’s word of the day is green, the color of spring, money, and envy.
Really? Word of the day is normally something people look to as vocabulary supplement. And where’s the meat? This entry is like Peewee’s playhouse where they just pick some random word, but even then there is a joke written into show later on.
Dictionary.com has an entry with 33 definitions for the word. This post doesn’t even have 33 syllables.
Your point is taken, but we do try to mix it up and keep it a mix of strange words, new words, and ordinary words so that it has more texture and is more surprising. There are dozens of definitions to “green” if you click through to the entry.
