Really? Word of the day is normally something people look to as vocabulary supplement. And where’s the meat? This entry is like Peewee’s playhouse where they just pick some random word, but even then there is a joke written into show later on.

Your point is taken, but we do try to mix it up and keep it a mix of strange words, new words, and ordinary words so that it has more texture and is more surprising. There are dozens of definitions to “green” if you click through to the entry.
