Today’s word of the day is shandygaff, a drink made of beer or ale mixed with ginger beer, ginger ale, or lemonade. It’s sometimes given as two words, shandy-gaff, and these days it’s usually known as a shandy. Its origins are, alas, unknown. Probably forgotten amidst hangover headaches.
